Trip Planning

When to go, how long to stay, and where to begin
What is the best time to visit Andaman?+
October to May is the ideal window. The weather is pleasant, the sea is calm, and visibility for scuba diving and snorkelling is at its best. December–January is peak season with the biggest crowds, while July–August is monsoon season when ferry schedules and water activities can be disrupted.
How many days are enough for Andaman?+
We recommend a minimum of 5 nights / 6 days to comfortably cover Port Blair, Havelock Island, and Neil Island without feeling rushed. For a deeper trip that includes Baratang's limestone caves or Diglipur in the north, plan for 7–8 nights.
Which islands should first-time visitors prioritise?+
Port Blair (Cellular Jail, Corbyn's Cove), Havelock/Swaraj Dweep (Radhanagar Beach, scuba diving), and Neil Island/Shaheed Dweep (Bharatpur Beach, Natural Bridge) form the classic first-timer circuit and cover the best of what Andaman offers in 5–6 days.
What's the weather like across the year?+
Andaman has a tropical climate year-round, with temperatures generally between 23°C and 31°C. Humidity is high throughout the year. The southwest monsoon runs roughly May to September, and a shorter northeast monsoon can bring showers in November–December.
Is Andaman safe for solo travellers and families?+
Yes. Andaman is one of India's safer destinations for solo travellers, couples, and families, with low crime rates and a tourism-friendly local population. Standard travel precautions apply, especially around water safety and respecting tribal reserve boundaries that are off-limits to visitors.

Travel & Permits

Getting there and the paperwork you'll need
Do I need a permit to visit Andaman?+
Indian nationals do not need a special permit to visit Andaman — a valid government photo ID is sufficient. Foreign nationals require a Restricted Area Permit (RAP), issued free of charge on arrival at Port Blair airport or seaport, typically valid for 30 days.
How do I reach Andaman from Jaipur?+
There are no direct flights from Jaipur to Port Blair. The most convenient routing is Jaipur to Chennai, Kolkata, or Delhi on a connecting flight, followed by a direct flight to Port Blair. We help plan the most time- and cost-efficient routing based on your travel dates.
How do I travel between islands once I'm there?+
Government and private ferries connect Port Blair, Havelock, and Neil Island, with crossings taking roughly 1.5–3 hours depending on the vessel and route. Seats on popular routes sell out in peak season, so we book these in advance as part of your package.
Are there direct flights to Port Blair?+
Yes, Veer Savarkar International Airport in Port Blair has direct flights from Chennai, Kolkata, Delhi, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad on major Indian carriers. Flight frequency is higher from Chennai and Kolkata.
Can I take a ship/cruise instead of flying?+
Yes, passenger ships operate from Chennai, Kolkata, and Visakhapatnam to Port Blair, taking around 50–60 hours one-way. This is a budget-friendly but time-intensive option, generally chosen by travellers who aren't on a tight schedule.

Packages & Booking

Customisation, pricing, and cancellation policies
Can I customise my itinerary?+
Absolutely. Every package on our site can be fully customised. Share your travel dates, group size, budget, and interests, and our team will craft a personalised itinerary with a quote within 2 hours.
What's included in a typical tour package?+
Most packages include accommodation, inter-island ferry tickets, airport/jetty transfers, sightseeing as per the itinerary, and applicable taxes. Flights, meals (unless specified), entry fees for optional activities, and personal expenses are usually excluded — full details are listed on each package page.
What is your cancellation and refund policy?+
Cancellation terms vary slightly by hotel and ferry operator, but as a general guide: 30+ days before travel incurs a 10% deduction, 15–29 days incurs 25%, 7–14 days incurs 50%, and less than 7 days is generally non-refundable. We recommend travel insurance for every booking.
Do you offer honeymoon or family-specific packages?+
Yes, we curate separate Honeymoon, Family, Group, Luxury, Budget, Adventure, and Corporate packages, each tailored in pace, accommodation style, and activity selection to suit that kind of trip.
How do I confirm a booking and what about payment?+
After you submit an enquiry, our travel expert calls to finalise the itinerary and shares a formal quote. A booking is confirmed once an advance payment is made; the balance is typically due before or during travel as per the package terms.

Activities & Safety

Scuba diving, water sports, age limits and instructions
Is scuba diving safe for beginners?+
Yes. "Try Scuba" (also called Discover Scuba) is a beginner programme where a certified instructor dives with you one-on-one — no prior experience or certification is needed. This is available at Havelock Island and most operators set a minimum age of around 10 years.
What's the minimum age for water activities?+
Age limits vary by activity: Try Scuba and snorkelling are generally open from age 10, sea walking from age 10–12, jet ski and parasailing usually require participants to be at least 12–14, and most operators set an upper age limit pending a basic fitness/health declaration.
Do I need to be a strong swimmer to try water sports?+
No. Most activities — including Try Scuba, sea walking, and the glass-bottom boat ride — are designed for non-swimmers, since life jackets or diving helmets are provided and a trained instructor accompanies you throughout.
Are activities safe for people with medical conditions?+
Activities like scuba diving and sea walking aren't advisable for travellers with heart conditions, severe asthma, recent surgeries, or who are pregnant. Operators require a health declaration before water activities, and it's best to inform our team in advance so we can suggest suitable alternatives.
What should I carry for sightseeing and activities?+
Reef-safe sunscreen, a hat, comfortable footwear, a reusable water bottle, a change of clothes for water activities, and a dry bag for electronics are recommended. Cellular Jail and a few sightseeing spots have specific dress and photography guidelines listed on their respective pages.

Money & Connectivity

Currency, network coverage, and other practical tips
Are ATMs and card payments widely available?+
ATMs are reliable in Port Blair but limited and occasionally out of cash on Havelock and Neil Island, so we recommend carrying sufficient cash for these islands. Card payments are accepted at most hotels and larger restaurants, but smaller vendors and ferry counters often prefer cash.
Will my mobile network work on the islands?+
BSNL has the widest coverage across the islands, including remote ones. Airtel, Jio, and Vodafone-Idea work reliably in Port Blair and Havelock but can be patchy or unavailable in remoter parts of Neil Island, Diglipur, and Baratang.
What is the local currency and are foreign cards accepted?+
Andaman uses the Indian Rupee (INR), the same as the rest of India. International debit/credit cards work at Port Blair's bank ATMs and most established hotels, but it's wise to carry some cash for smaller islands and local vendors.
Is plastic banned or are there other rules to be aware of?+
Yes, single-use plastic is banned across the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, and carrying items like plastic bags, bottles, or straws into protected areas can attract fines. Coral and shells may not be collected or purchased, and entry into designated tribal reserves is strictly prohibited.
